AP US History Grade

Hint, it’s a four.

This is the first piece of ‘bad’ news to come to Exposay in its short blogging history. Part of this blogging effort is my college admissions process, as inspired by the Financial Aid Podcast, and this is highly relevant. I took one AP course this year, hoped to do really well on the exam, and simply didn’t. I’m angry, sure. However, I think I nailed all of my other goals this year, including a solid SAT score, a solid average, decent happiness, and an accumulation of knowledge. The second I began to become complacent about my accomplishments, I got knocked back down to Earth; for that, I’m glad. Of course I wish I got a five on my first AP exam, but now I have a reason to work myself a little bit harder next year, right?

An Instant Message comment posted with permission from my friend, Emily, concerning a teacher in Dover Plains, Mr. Healy:

oh ps. 4 thats sucks, now you dont get that free unasked for recommendation from healy that would go like this: ‘UUHHHHHHHHH -thinks- Rickey [Nelson] Mandella (hahaha funny right?) is totally frieakning right 4 yer college. He’s smart and wittty and compeltely adorable. I’m straight and I can say that. At least I think I’m straight, I have been debating that for awhile at least since Nealy broke up with me. He loves computers as much as he loves socializing with everyone. He mocks out with his cock out so hard. Not like that He’s on mock trial and he’s very dedicated, or so I’ve heard. Listening to the girls gossip in the hall I also hear that he’s quite the lady killer. Well thats all I can think of fer now, i gotta go feed Jezebell, my cat and then I have to go do dishes =P for my landlords and fellow teachers.

    Thanks, Emily!

Seriously, a 4 is not a bad grade AT ALL. Especially in a subject that’s not your thing.

We’ll see. I’ll just lower my college bar so that I can get credit for it. :P

No, trust, you DON’T want AP credits on anything that doesn’t apply to your major. Taking the Gen Ed classes is a great way to give your GPA some padding.

    Kyle, that’s an interesting perspective.

    Thanks for registering!

but a 4 still sucks massive cajones
    my grades sucked
    US-4
    Phys-5
    CalcBC-5
    Lit-4
    (old ones)
    World-5
    CalcAB-5

so with 3 more tests to take (Lang, Chem, & Macro), I can still get the AP Scholar award that I want if I get a 4 or better on 2 of then & a 3 or better on the last
